40th Meeting of Asean Chartered Professional Engineer Coordinating Committee (ACPECC)

INTRODUCTION

1.            The 40th Meeting of the ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers Coordinating Committee (ACPECC) was held on 19 June 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, back to back with the 93rd Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Services (CCS).

 

2.            The Meeting was chaired by Dr. Krai Tungsanga, from the Council of Engineers, Thailand and attended by representatives from all ASEAN Member States (AMS) as well as the ASEAN Secretariat staff.  The list of delegates appears as ANNEX 1.

3.            The Meeting adopted the agenda, which appears as ANNEX 2.

 

AGENDA ITEM 2.     ASSESSMENT STATEMENTS AND MONITORING COMMITTEES

4.            Thailand submitted its revised Monitoring Committee, which appears as ANNEX 3.

 

5.            Lao PDR and Viet Nam informed the Meeting that there are some changes in their Monitoring Committee and will inform formally at the 41st ACPECC Meeting.

 

6.            The Meeting noted that there is no change in Assessment Statements of any AMS. The latest status of AMS submission on Assessment Statements and Monitoring Committee as follows:

AGENDA ITEM 3.     ASEAN CHARTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER REGISTER (ACPER)

7.            The Meeting noted the registration of 6 ACPEs from Indonesia, 4 of which were deceased and 2 ACPEs were registered two-times (at 29th ACPECC on 29 September 2015 and also at 39th ACPECC on 14 February 2019).The list of 6 ACPEs from Indonesia to be deregistered appears as ANNEX 4.

8.            The Meeting encouraged all AMS to update their respective ACPE Register including cases of deregistration.  

9.         The Meeting considered the submission of 186 applications for ACPEs, 1 from Brunei Darussalam, 5 from Cambodia, 3 from Indonesia, 2 from Lao PDR, 71 from Malaysia, 38 from Myanmar, 60 from the Philippines, 3 from Singapore and 3 from Thailand. The lists of applicants appear collectively as ANNEX 5.

10.         Regarding the 2 applicants from Brunei Darussalam submitted at the last meeting, the Meeting noted the following:

·         After consideration, the engineering discipline of Ir. Dyg. Hajah Norhayati binti Awg. Ahmad) will be stated as Mechanical (Building Services) as suggested by the 39th ACPECC. Her application will be resubmitted at the 41st ACPECC.

·         Malaysia confirmed that Ir. Yu Soon Teck will apply for ACPE through Malaysian Monitoring Committee.

11.         The Meeting approved 186 applications for ACPEs submitted at this Meeting. The total number of ACPEs is 3,733 as follows:
