Along with the integration into the region and the world, the mobility of engineering services plays significant role in the cross boundary trade as per the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) on Engineering Services signed by Ministers of Commerce of ASEAN Countries in 2005. BEC was established to handle the mechanism of Professional Regulatory Authority (PRA) for Cambodia.

           The Board of Engineers Cambodia (BEC) derived from The Engineering Institution of Cambodia (EIC) which was founded in the year 2000 as an Engineering Society with the substantial support from RGC. EIC envisioned to bringing national engineer human resources to efficiently share action in the social development by gathering national engineers, enhancing their qualifications and seeking jobs for them.

           The Board of Engineers Cambodia (BEC) is established by the Royal Degree No. នស/រកត/0409/413 dated on April,2009.
